Not only did we spontaneously decide to get out and do something new and fun today, but I spontaneously ditched my original word in favor of this one.

A word found me today when a box got delivered to my door. For once, it wasn't to me, from me, via Amazon Prime. It was a bucket of Hello Kitty, and a lovely thoughtful gift that inspired this post.

It's very easy to get caught up in whatever is happening without really noticing what's happening. That's why today's word was "pause." Just cold-stopping whatever you're doing to pay attention to what's right in front of you.

It seems that I made a mistake on a prior blog. Today I make an effort to correct that.

We have plans to go to one of my favorite restaurants tonight. So my mind is on looking forward to that. I wanted a word to express the feeling, but the English language did not want to cooperate. So I had to make my own.

When Ralph and I got married, my mother rooted a clipping from one of her plants and gave it to us. Thus Alice was born, and she has been with us for nearly 25 years.

I did it. I finally succumbed and bought cookies today. It was satisfying and delightful, and made me think about how cookies aren't just sugar, but a little bit of freshly baked love.

I already used the word "new" for January, but the thing that kept coming to mind is that it's a new month. Another chance to start again. So I landed on the word "again" as a unique reminder of how we can always start over.
